Choose You This Day
We will, according to God's holy and inspired Word, spend eternity in one of two places. Yes, every single person who has ever been born or will ever be born will experience either the indescribable wonders of the beauty of heaven or will miss this benefit of salvation and instead spend eternity in lonely darkness, intense suffering, and utter hopelessness.
There are two specific people who will be in hell. The first is the person who in no uncertain terms declares that he isn't interested in going to heaven because all of his friends & family who he knows are in hell. But there is neither companionship nor relief but only deep darkness, pain and absence of God...forever. Friends or loved ones may also be there but there is no communication between.
The other person is "religious" and believes that despite little, if any, involvement in the Church (remember Jesus died for the Church) they are going to go to heaven when they die. These people may express some interest in "the lord" but evidence little, if any, devotion, commitment, service or financial investment in the Kingdom of God. They also do not read or understand what the Bible teaches about the only way of salvation. (Acts 4: 12 and John 6:35-40). It seems that they have just enough "religion" to keep them from actually experiencing a living, loving, personal relationship with God' s Son, Jesus Christ. Thus missing the grace of God, they too will miss heaven and arrive surprised in hell. This is such a tragic waste of grace.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believed in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16.
Have you made your choice either for or against Jesus Christ? It is a decision that must be made in this life! Think about this, pray about this -don't trust "religion" or anything else but Jesus Christ -and make THE most important decision of your eternity.
Assuming you have made the decision to become a disciple of the Lord Jesus and having made this choice, have you invested your life, time, talents, gifts and treasures wisely in God's kingdom? The stock market has almost limitless choices for you to invest in. Some may bring a handsome return for you while others may bottom up and leave you with an empty portfolio at a time when you need it the most. Of course we trust that won't happen.
But what will your investment in the Kingdom bring to you when that day of accounting comes before the King of Kings? Will you have someone thank you because you told them about Christ and they found Him through you? Will someone else thank you that because of your interest in missions they found Christ in a far-a-way place? Or a child you influenced in SS comes to you to thank you for teaching them the truth that changed their life? Or could it be a family member who witnessed your deep love for and commitment to Jesus as they grew up? Or was it a thank you because of your generous provision to a cause that made a difference to a person in dire need. Isn't this worth the struggle and inconvenience that sometimes comes in our walk of faith -when the promised outcome to God's faithful servants is going to be so wonderful?
Sure it is and to just hear those words, "Well done, my good servant" (Luke 19:17) is enough.
