Why should God allow you into heaven? This question was presented in a local church Sunday bulletin asking you to give three reasons. Compare your answers to the one's below that reflect God's requirements.

1. I admit that I have not been good enough to deserve heaven. "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

2. I believe that Jesus, God's Son, took the punishment for my sins and made it possible for me to be right with God. "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

3. I have accepted the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).

If your answers don't match these but instead reveal that you are trusting something other than what Christ has done for you, put your faith in Him. Pray to the Lord, expressing the above truths in your own words. Then you can be sure of a home in heaven.
